Yeah metalinks are great. They provide links to multiple mirrors and sometimes even torrents giving you much improved download speeds. A better integrated metalinker supporting download manager would be awesome as well.

This has been solved already, but it still requires a blog (like mine http://log.logfish.net/node/68 ) to promote the metalinks to the normal user.

However, I think this can be closed even though the links are not readily available on the Ubuntu download page yet.
