Idea #439: Possibility to "bookmark" ideas

bug This idea was marked as implemented the 9 May 08.
Written by frandavid100 the 29 Feb 08 at 01:50. Related project: brainstorm.ubuntu.com. Status: Implemented
Rationale
Could there be a way to mark an idea as "favourite" in brainstorm.ubuntu? To star, or bookmark an idea so I can find it more easily later on and see what people have commented?

Selected solution (#1): Auto-generated solution of idea #439
Written by frandavid100 the 29 Feb 08 at 01:50.
Ubuntu Brainstorm was updated in January 2009. Since the idea #439 was submitted before this update, its rationale and solution are not separated. Please vote accordingly, and if you have the necessary rights, please separate the rationale from the solution. Thanks!

I'd like an RSS feed.

But why? Digg it, bookmark it in your browser (they still do this you know!), del.ici.ous, share it on facebook, reddit, stumbleupon... So many ways to do it.

However, they could add buttons/widgets for the sharing places to get more visibility on this "wishlist".

Voted No. Just use your browser for goodness sakes...thats what its for!

Although I agree bookmarking per se isn't necessary, I would like a "watch" option that notified me when new comments were added to the idea, and maybe optionally if the voting passed certain thresholds. I don't care if it's email, rss, or what, but I certainly don't want to waste time clicking around a ton of bookmarks to see if anything new has been added to ideas I'm interested in.

This could also be used to mark ideas that they are under heavy consideration by a user. Some ideas really need to be thought over before voting.

Why should I have to create 50 bookmarks in my browser just for separate ideas I'm weighing over?

+1

I think there should be "User menu" categories/bookmarks like:
-My Comments(ideas the user has commented on)
-Deciding(Ideas you are thinking about, but not decided)
-Favorites(Just ideas you want to keep track of for any reason)

If it would allow other users to see your favourite ideas, then fair enough. Otherwise see other comments re conventional bookmarking.
