Rationale
I've found that although applications have a way to send problems using the "About->Report a problem" menu option, there isn't a way to report problems you may be experiencing as a whole inside of Daily/Alpha/Beta builds of ubuntu.

I'll try to explain this. Let's say you've either booted up or installed a recent build or alpha/beta of ubuntu. If for example an application won't start at all with no visible error messages... there isn't a friendly way to be able to report this.

There is also a lack of being able to give feedback during the daily/beta/alpha sessions. This kind of information would be invaluable, if there was an easy way to do it for all users. For example look at Firefox, they have a feedback button during their daily and alpha/beta builds to be able to collect problems and feature requests.

Solution #1: Applet/Widget to easily create a bug report, or give feedback.

There are a few ways we could solve this. We could have a panel applet which you could click on and then click on a misbehaving application to create a bug report about it. This wouldn't work on non-starting applications however.

We could create a panel applet that once clicked allows you to create a blank bug report and let you describe the problems.

We could create an all-round system button on application borders labelled "feedback" or similar, once clicked allows the user to write their issues, or file a bug.

Obvious all these solutions will gather basic system information required to be able to assist the developers figure out the problem.

For reference: See Firefox feedback button.

If you are using an Alpha, Beta, or RC, you should be reporting bugs as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing
