Idea #14857: Subcategories in Add/Remove

bug This idea was marked as implemented the 29 July 11. Available starting Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex.
Written by pepperpupper the 27 Oct 08 at 10:25. Related project: Add/Remove program dialog. Status: Implemented
Rationale
I think it would be nice if there where subcategories in Add/Remove.

The internet-category, for instance, contains a lot of different applications for different purposes.

Maybe it would be easier to navigate if there was instead " internet - messaging, internet - browsers, sound and video - codecs" etc...

Yes that's what I want!
This is really good idea. When I'm trying to find some program I get lost in the never ending list of apps.
Instead just clicking graphics -> simple graphic editors -> krita
or
games -> rts -> warzone 2100
+1, hope it gets implemented

Marking "Implemeted".

In Ubuntu Software Center "Developer Tools", "Games", "Graphics", "Internet" and "Science & Engineering" categories have subcategories.

For example the "Internet" category has following subcategories: "Chat", "File Sharing", "Mail" and "Web Browsers".
