when you have used search to find a file in nautilus you can (like in WinXp) right click and open containing folder. as it stands i have to go in properties and find where it is then copy and paste this into the address bar.
I have found a simple solution to this (still, +1 because it should exist by default):
1)install nautilus-actions (with synaptic or apt-get)
2)System>Preferences>Nautilus Actions Configuration
3)click on 'Add'
4)label= Open containing folder', path= nautilus, parameters= 0
5)OK and exit
Then simply right-click on the search result and select Open containing folder.
Now, I'd be interested to know if I can open the containing folder in a new tab rather than a new window. Is there an option one can add to the nautilus command?
