yes maybe you see a score of zero and maybe 1000 people vote for this idea and other 1000 against it.
It's important to see how many people wanted to vote against or for an idea.
I think it is important to do this. As an example, the proposal may be "include XYZ rather than ABC as an interface". The score may be low, indicating that this is a low priority item for most. However a large number of people could have voted for it, and a large number against it, and from that we could conclude that we should include both ABC *AND* XYZ rather than switching or staying the same.
Even a seemingly high score could be hiding a much larger number of vote compared to which the score is not so significant. Such controversial ideas may need to be discussed and revised to win a larger consent.
Number of votes + percentage of approval would be more significant in lists of ideas. Idea pages should include complete information about votes.
Disagree.
Revealing that information would taint the voting process.
Sometimes it's better to just vote the way you feel, without knowing first how everyone else feels.
This is one of those cases.
I think it should be on the details page, but yes it should be somewhere. The single score on the main page simplifies things, and keeps it uncluttered.
Whether or not revealing the actual numbers is not so important as making sure all ideas have an equal chance to be seen.
Therefore I vote for "Random Ideas" on the Frontpage not "Latest" or "Todays highest rated".
The Frontpage has been changed to "Latest" which is better than "Highest rated of all time" like it was initially, but "Random" as entry point would be even better!
The reason I am stating that here is, that the Idea concentrating on that, is already marked as implemented.
