Idea #11960: Change log out icon

Written by jdfoote the 7 Aug 08 at 23:10. Related project: Gnome. Status: New
Rationale
I'm no graphic designer, but I know that this thing - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Gnome-system-log-out.svg is ugly. Surely someone can design a better log out icon.

The rest of Ubuntu/GNOME looks so beautiful, but this icon sticks out like a sore thumb.

I don't know where this came from. It seemed to show up to replace the door with an arrow pointing into it in Hardy's human icon theme.

To me, it looks like an icon I'd use for a run dialogue, not a shutdown button.

I'm quite fond of the one in hardy. This green little dude just wont cut it.

Agreed. The little man is not intuitive or pretty. I don't see it, though, as I use Tango icon set. :)

+1 as well.

my logout icon is an open door with a narrow - means much more than a figure running
