Rationale
In other operatings systems (for example: windows) the file browser can manage music files by the ID3 tags (in MP3 or WMA, etc...). So I can sort my music files by Artist name, or Song name.
In Nautilus i can't find a way to see the ID3, or sort the music files by artist or song.
That option will be great in the Gnome's file browser.
COMPLEMENT:
This is a idea that was reported as a duplicate, but is better to call it: complement :)

Currently There are only 2 ways to list files in the default file manager (nautilus). View as icons or view as list.
The list view is quite limited. if I want to see meta data for my files I have to right click each file and choose properties, then click the appropriate tab such as audio for mp3s. it would be much nicer to have a column for mp3 id tags or image display size for example under the list mode or possibly even a 3rd mode just for displaying meta data. I believe KDE's file manager has that data readily available. Gnome should as well.
In addition to using MP3 ID3 tags, I think we need other meta data accessible in Natilus. I really want to be able to view some of the EXIF data of my photos and sort by that data.
I marked the duplicates the wrong way. I think the idea #1045: "Nautilus: support file metadata in alternate view modes" should be the primary as it includes metadata for not just MP3s but also images, video, documents, etc. This is a feature I really miss from Windows.
Cornelius: it looks nice, is close, but is not the idea. The idea is the ability to see that meta-data in the "list mode" because now we only can see a few fields of meta-data that are not very useful to manage multimedia files like music files or picture files.
