Windows apps in the repositories
Written by Afroman10496 the 9 Nov 09 at 23:22. New
There are many great, open-source Windows apps out there that are only for Windows, and sometimes even if there is a Linux version available, the Windows version sometimes is way better ( http://www.tuxradar.com/content/benchmarked-firefox-javascript-linux-and-window s-and-its-not-pretty ).

Solution #1: Add Windows apps in the repos
Written by Afroman10496 the 9 Nov 09 at 23:22.
If Wine is installed, take the open-source apps from Wine Doors (http://wddb.wine-doors.org/) and integrate them into Ubuntu Software Center. Also, automatically put them in the appropriate menu section (e.g. Firefox goes in Internet).

Solution #2: Include a database of windows apps that detect win app search and propose linux
Written by Freestate the 20 Nov 09 at 11:04.
When you search the name of a windows app on synaptic the database detect the name of the window app, shows a message YOU´RE SEARCHING A WINDOWS APP in linux you could use this.

Example:you type emule in search and they shows a message, this is a a windows app,in linux you could use amule that offers the same funcionality.
you type spotify this is a windows app and no are alternative free version for linux you could try to install with wine wizard tool for windows apps(Some kind of wine manager).
