Way to specify the dimensions of gnome dialogs and windows
Written by kerryhall the 3 Jan 09 at 01:26. Global category: Usability. New
I would like a way to specify the dimensions and coordinates of the gnome dialogs and windows. For instance, the save dialog is pretty small, and I usually have to resize it almost every single time I save a file! It would be nice for gnome to remember how I resize certain dialogs, or even how I resize certain dialogs for certain applications.

Ctrl+N from desktop should open a new Nautilus window
Written by Skalman the 11 Dec 08 at 17:12. Related project: Nautilus. New
When the desktop is focused you should be able to use Ctrl+N to open a new Nautilus window (just like other shortcuts work then).

Note: It would do exactly the same thing as alt+home.

Applet for encapsulating launcher icons (instead putting them on the panel)
Written by Aphoxema the 13 Nov 08 at 18:08. Related project: Gnome. New
Instead of Drawer applet, I would like to see an applet that contains your launchers for you like the tasklist houses your open applications.

Putting the icons on the panel has it's uses, but can create quite a mess. If you rearrange your panels, you'll have to move every launcher. If you uninstall an application, the icon is replaced with a blank space and you have to move each launcher over to eliminate it.

With a bar that keeps them together, there will be no blank spaces and they can all be moved together. By making it a separate applet there's no risk of harming normal functionality of adding launchers to the Gnome Panel.
