For the reason HDDs become bigger and bigger it would be interesting for more users in the future to use LVM. I found it frustraiting and more dangerous to use the alternate install disk just to manage a lvm.

Make LVM avaible to manage in Desktop-Installer of Ubuntu. Create new optional dialogs. As minimum, desktop installer should be able to recognize existing LVMs. If there is one, it should be possible to configure, manage and install directly as any other installation and partitioniring method of the desktop installer.
