Ubiquity : easily chose mount point when partitions are already prepared
Written by Id2ndR the 6 Sep 08 at 14:27. New
I don't like the integrated partitioning tool of Ubiquity. I use gparted to create/resize/move my partitions easily.
Once this is done, I want to choose mount points for these partitions so I choose "manual partitioning" in Ubiquity.

I think that Ubiquity can be improved on following aspects :

- Ubiquity takes a long time to analyse the drive before choosing "guided" "entire disk" or "manual".
I guess that it analysed size of data. We don't need to waste this time in most cases (only guided may need it). We just need to display the three choices.

- When "manual" is chosen : it's very complicated to set a mount point. Instead of just set it (as it was before Ubiquity), we need to 1/ choose a size (partition already have a size), 2/ choose FS (whereas it is already known).

- When "manual" is chosen : the tool analyses the disk each time we just set a mount point ; why ???

- When "manual" is chosen : the tool doesn't set up anymore default mount points (/media/sdaX) as it was done about 2 years before.
