The problem/solution paradigm encourages you think within the box
Written by r0g the 24 Jan 09 at 07:12. Category: Idea structure. New
Okay so in this case _here_ it works fine, there _is_ a problem however... We're trying to brainstorm here right? and it's perfectly possible to have ideas that don't easily sit inside the box of problem/solution.

I just had an idea for adding a new gesture/zone. That doesn't solve any particular problem and forcing it to fit the problem/solution actually detracts from the idea.

I could phrase it "Ubuntu does not have enough gestures / zones." but this isn't true for everyone, not necessarily even me, however it _is_ an idea and someone might have a use for it, lord knows there's enough things in compiz that people might want to trigger...

Solution #1: Ask moderators to allow ideas thru if they are best expressed as plain ideas.

Just a bit of common sense guidance to moderators. If there's obviously a problem then fair enough, insist on using the problem / solution format but be aware some ideas are best expressed as just plain old ideas.

Written by stefanoa the 9 Dec 08 at 07:46. New
Why Canonical dont be as Apple?

Canonical Pc a pc make with an internetational producer (Dell, Toshiba, or an other chineese not famous) with Ubuntu pre-installed.

Advantages:

- total experience for the user
- brand diffusion
- marketing strategy
- diffusion of Ubuntu
- identification with the brand
- zero problem for compatibility

This is only one possibility, Canonical don't produce only pc (as Apple), is an other way, together actual strategy.
The Ubuntu store, will be a good instruments.

Make Ubuntu Netbook Remix the Default UI
Written by aikiwolfie the 9 Jan 09 at 23:22. Won't implement
This is a pretty simple idea. Completely replace the Gnome panels with the Ubuntu Netbook Remix menus. I think this would genuinely make Ubuntu more appealing to newbies as an OS alternative to Windows and make the Ubuntu GNU/Linux OS easier to use.

Let´s make 2009 the Obama and Ubuntu year !
Written by Crow1967 the 16 Dec 08 at 08:57. Not an idea
Let´s make the coming year a successful year for both Obama and Ubuntu and make sure that this year Ubuntu will really take off and become more popular then ever !
You can do this by approaching your friends, colleagues, family and distribute Ubuntu, explain and let them see what this beautiful Free Operating System can do, compared to their $$ counterparts. As many people are disappointed about some current operating systems, this is the time to show, what Ubuntu can do and is capable of.

Good luck and all the best for the New Year ! Happy Holidays everybody !
