remote desktop in virtual desktops
Written by saltyjet the 18 May 12 at 15:52. Related project: Compiz. New
for some time, the coolest eyecandy in linux distros has been the desktop cube. truth is, the multiple desktops afforded by virtual desktops are beyond useful and speedy, they're a great way to organize your windows in a remarkable way.
My idea is to add a desktop from another network connected machine in with your virtual desktops. more could be done as ultimate sharing by drag and drop of applets from one machine to another.
devs, if this is possible, it is a revolutionary cloud idea and pretty much streamline the remote help options, even if with the smallest of options being to move text based apps from one machine to another with terminal commands...etc...
please let me know what you think of the idea.

No app indicator template for Quickly
Written by lauterzsolti the 23 May 12 at 08:42. Related project: Unity. New
The Quickly development tool has a few nice templates to start a new graphical or cli app or unity lens project easily (and quickly) but it still doesn't have a template for application indicators.

It would be great to have a new template for Quickly to create application indicators easier as well.

Solution #1: Compiling scanner
Written by checoimg the 29 Nov 11 at 21:27.
I would use a school-board and type with an "electronic typewriter" and finally correct and then decode with the scanner to finally debugging on the computer. ( a new character system is required for better recognition from scanners )

Centralised Cookie Management
Written by jesuisbenjamin the 11 Jan 12 at 00:23. Global category: Programming. New
CONTEXT:
Each web-browser makes use of its own cookie jar and most applications requiring e.g. authentication also have their own.

PROBLEM:
In some cases an application (e.g. inbox notifier) for the desktop needs authentication, while this authentication is already done through the browser. If this application wants to provide authentication via OpenID, it would require to simulate authentication to OpenID providers as if it were made through the browser. If the application wants to provide more than one OpenID provider to its options, it will have to do this for each provider. That represents quite a lot of work and it would be duplicated by as many application requiring authentication.

Solution #1: Centralised Cookie Management
Written by jesuisbenjamin the 11 Jan 12 at 00:23.
If a centralised cookie management would exist on the OS, to which applications would connect to read and write cookies, it would alleviate that much work from developers and stimulate more development in return.
Of course, such a centralised cookie management would need to be secured and would require a protocol for browsers to stick to in case it is made available on the OS.
