Make New IMs on Minimized Pidgin More Visible
Written by timmay the 11 Sep 08 at 15:03. New
Right now if you have a Pidgin message window minimized or behind other windows, the only thing that visually happens when you get a new IM is the font on the tab changes to bold. On windows machines the tab flashes and is much more visible.

animated gifs from pidgin
Written by nitrofurano the 10 Sep 08 at 10:57. New
Would be interesting being able to use animated gif and mng files on Pidgin. It's a bit annoying people using those obsolete msn contacts being able to show us animated gifs with messages, and Pidgin users don't... And as well, i still have no idea if the googletalk/jabber protocol supports this feature

As well, would be interesting Pidgin users able to save these animations as .gif or .mng files, instead of static .png

Also as well, making us able to have our personal folders of animated gif files

Search Contacts in Pidgen
Written by freexe the 9 Sep 08 at 15:15. New
When trying to locate a friend it can be hard when they have long, changing, unrelated nicks or you have a lot of friends.

I would like a quick search to locate these friends by searching for there name, nick or email.

Support for different characters out of the box
Written by mikecomua the 25 Aug 08 at 15:14. New
So this is what I want...
Windows does NOT support Cyrillic non-Unicode characters, and, sadly, neither does Ubuntu. If you ad a song in Russian or Ukrainian to any media player, it will give you question marks or weird letters, in Pidgin by default, your first conversations in Russian cannot be read, unless you change the encoding. Firefox doesn't read non-Unicode characters and so on and so forth. Even installing the language pack doesn't help. Please fix that problem

Pidgin plugin to auto-join buddies in online games.
Written by crhylove the 18 Aug 08 at 20:50. New
Pidgin is a powerful Instant messenger that can communicate with tons of people via MySpace, AIM, MSN, Gtalk, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC, Jabber, and others.

It would be fantastic if there was a way to right click on a buddy, and then auto-join them in a game on a mutual server if both parties have the appropriate emulator/game.

It would also be nice if the plugin automatically downloaded the game or emulator in question, provided the game or emulator is open source.

Instant Mario Kart 64 with any of your pidgin friends would be a major improvement over any other currently available OS.

Make possible to switch between AM/PM and 24-hrs time in Pidgin.
Written by neonesis the 16 Aug 08 at 21:37. New
I'm using 24-hrs time everywhere, and it's annoying when Pidgin shows my conversations with AM/PM time. And i can't change it, because it depends of system language. This should be changed.

Pidgin - One Account for different IRC servers
Written by Carroarmato0 the 14 Aug 08 at 15:03. New
If you are like me and are connected to different irc servers, you can quickly become frustrated by the amount of different accounts created for every single server.

This frustrating situation could have been solved ages ago if it wasn't that Pidgin doesn't support the " /server " command for changing irc server on-the-fly in your current window (
or tab).

The alternative however is to use other popular irc clients who are specialized like xchat.

The way Pidgin currently handles the Irc protocol and arranges Accounts should be reconsidered.
