Every application has a different colour selection process

I am not particularly fond of the colour picker in Open Office as it is not simple to pick a colour, you need to add it to the palette before it can be used. Why not have a single unified palette that any application can plug into.

Solution #1: Unified Colour Picker
Written by XrayA4T the 2 May 09 at 18:48.
Why not have a single method to selece a colour. This could then be used from any application be it open office or Gimp. It could allow for plug-ins so if you need CMYK and it is not in the picker by default it could be added via a plug-in and be available in all applicatiions. Also if say pantone wants to support Linux they could do it in a sinlge place rather than having to support multiple applications.

Consistency of Ctrl-Drag Operations across all programs
Written by michaelwheatland the 22 Dec 09 at 23:25. New
The implementation of the pseudo clipboard mouse functions, ie. Control Drag and Shift Drag are not consistent across all applications within Ubuntu.

Example: Open Office
Within Open Office Writer you can select text, hold control and copy the text to another location within the document.
Within Open Office Draw if you drag an item while holding the control button it only moves the item.

Solution #1: Integrate all mouse copy and move functions into the gnome/KDE clipboard

The implementation of these functions should not be 'per program' but rather implemented as a part of the clipboard functionality of Ubuntu.
