Replace LibreOffice with Apache OpenOffice
Written by AlexSL the 20 Feb 13 at 17:07. Not an idea
I suggest to replace LibreOffice with Apache OpenOffice in Ubuntu.

My reasons:
1. Apache OpenOffice is not linked to Oracle any more. It is trademark of The Apache Software Foundation. And it is completely free (Apache 2.0 license).
2. Apache OpenOffice is much more stable now than LibreOffice. I know this because I have tested both of this Offices long time. LibreOffice contains more bugs than Apache OpenOffice. LibreOffice contains some painful (for me) bugs which OpenOffice do not contain.
3. Apache OpenOffice is much better supported by Apache Software Foundation than LibreOffice. It is my own experience. I have posted my problem to both Apache bug tracker and LibreOffice bug tracker. I've got fast answer which solved my problem at Apache, but I've got no one answer at LibreOffice bug tracker.

Solution #1: It is easy to replace
Written by AlexSL the 20 Feb 13 at 17:07.
For now I have completely remove LibreOffice from my Ubuntu system and install Apache OpenOffice from official site (http://www.openoffice.org). This site contain deb packages for download.
But much better if you add Apache OpenOffice packages to Ubuntu repository. And remove unstable LibreOffice. It is very easy to replace this office in repository. May be for next Ubuntu releases.

Open Office: support for more than ~64000 rows, advanced mathematics
Written by billdotson the 4 Oct 09 at 18:50. Not an idea
Excel 2007 allows for more than ~64000 rows in its spreadsheets. Many people who use spreadsheets need more rows than that. For example, my father is an accountant and said he couldn't use it because of this limitation.

Also, Open Office spreadsheet needs to be able to do advanced things like detailed statistical analysis and other advanced mathematical operations, pivot tables, and anything else that might be needed by someone at work.

Solution #1: Add more rows, add more advanced user functionality, easy transtion
Written by billdotson the 4 Oct 09 at 18:50.
Needs detailed statistical analysis and other advanced mathematical operations, pivot tables, and anything else that might be needed by someone at work.

Needs more rows and columns.

Needs to make a way for MS office users to make the switch easier.

Solution #2: Use advanced mathematical operations from Gnumeric
Written by Shnatsel the 7 Oct 09 at 15:18.
Gnumeric has lots of unique advanced mathematical operations. Free software is designed to take best from each other's projects. So why Gnumeric's functions weren't used in OpenOffice till now?

Solution #3: Use go-oo
Written by robertjlee the 30 Oct 09 at 22:28.
Go-oo is a fork of OpenOffice.org with a limit of 1048576 rows (according to http://lists.go-oo.org/pipermail/dev-go-oo.org/2009-June/001428.html)

Improve Openoffice
Written by wildner the 24 Aug 08 at 00:13. Not an idea
The openoffice is a excelente suite of office, but the Developers will need improve your performance, some tools and the look and feels to improve the usability and productivity of users.

Example 1: Openoffice delay too much to open the first session and after this your performance is also slow (open files for exemple.

Example 2: Copy the lines or colummns and paste it how "insert lines or colummns copied", today we copy the columns or lines, after this we need insert lines or colummns and then past de lines or colummns copied.
This is very stressful for anyone working extensively with spreadsheets.

Example 3: Freeze, remember, record the last color used in the Font colors and Background color.

Example 4: The developers team should work more on the look and feel of Openoffice.

I used openoffice 3.1(in developing) but isn't good enough to users that work very quite with spreadsheets.

Please, Help sun developers to improve openoffice. It is very important for Linux users and the Windows users who want to migrate to Linux.
