Visual feedback for clic on Eject button
Written by cudjoe the 1 Dec 08 at 09:05. Not an idea
When the user clics on the Eject button for removable media in Nautilus, there is no visual feedback.

There should be :
- aspect change when pushed (like any GUI button)
- aspect change on mouse over (facultative)
- aspect change while busy

Those details would prevent an impatient user to clic several times, and to make sure his action was taken in account...

Nautilus : Drag&Drop of files on an archive should add them to it
Written by cudjoe the 1 Aug 08 at 12:24. Implemented
In Nautilus file browser pane, I wish I could drag and drop files to archives **without** having to open file-roller.

(other ideas in brainstorm only mention D'n'D between a file-roller window and nautilus)

When arranging/sorting, files and folders remain grouped apart
Written by cudjoe the 16 Aug 09 at 20:36. New
When viewing a directory content, after sorting the view files and folders are still separated in two groups.

For example, this prevents the user to really sort items by modification date like a good old 'ls -lrt':

Nautilus shows :
- folder y | 2009-08-01
- folder x | 2009-07-01
- folder w | 2009-06-01
- file b | 2009-08-01
- file a | 2009-07-01
- file c | 2009-06-01

In addition, if the user has many folders, it will have to scroll to view last modified files !

Solution #1: Add checkbox option in context menu
Written by cudjoe the 16 Aug 09 at 20:36.
Something like "group folders apart files" along "reverse order" etc.

Solution #2: Add a checkbox in nautilus preferences
Written by icanzilb the 25 Aug 09 at 10:05.
When one likes better grouped separately folders and files, he should be able to group them permanently using a checkbox in Nautilus preferences. I think there's no need to clutter the context menu, while this is rather a preference.
