Ubuntu Media Center
Written by Pc_Madness the 29 Feb 08 at 00:56. Global category: Multimedia. Implemented
Pleeeeeease make an Ubuntu Media Center. I'd love to move my server over to Ubuntu but there are no good Media Center for it, so I'm stuck on Windows. :(

Audio/Video/Pictures support would be the bare minimum needed, but TV Tuner support/Web Browser/RSS Reader/whatever else you guys want would be excellent as well.

I know theres already an Ubuntu MC project (which is dead I think?), but it was going off in more of a FrontRow direction, where as I was kinda hoping Ubuntu could implement a proper MC like MCE or MediaPortal.

Selected solution (#6): LinuxMCE integrated with Ubuntu
Written by siekacz the 12 Apr 09 at 01:23.
I propose to solve this problem:

- Canonical should take care about LinuxMCE
- On optional Ubuntu edition should be created(e.g. Ubuntu Home Multimedia, Ubuntu Media Center)
- Create a list with compatibile hardware
- Improve LinuxMCE Look'n'Feel
- Translate it to other languages
- Make LinuxMCE easier to install and use

That's all. Thanks for comments!

PS. Watch this movie, you'll be amazed!

Card Reader Integration
Written by TutoWRM the 28 Feb 08 at 23:54. Global category: Multimedia. New
Until now it's only possible to read SD cards on multi-card-readers, like ricoh, that are integrated on most laptops on this days. And difficult the wireless options that this cards readers provide.

SD - Works
Memorystick / Pro - Don't Work
xD - Don't Work
MMC - Don't Work
