Program to create own music with a great usability
Written by Samweis the 12 Sep 10 at 12:14. New
I like to create my own music under Ubuntu. But it'S very hard to do this. There are some nice programs like lmms and qtractor. But you need some time to get into this programs and understand how they work. I just used the musicmaker from Magix to mix some songs. This program is very easy to use. There is a soundpool where you find good loops, timeshifting works and you can put effects on your loops. It's very easy to handle. Also using vst instruments is very easy. Everyone who likes to do his own music, can do this without any knowlege. It's great and it's BIG fun. I would be very happy if there would be the possibility to have a "ubuntu-solution" under a free licence.

Solution #1: Do a qractor-hack
Written by Samweis the 12 Sep 10 at 12:14.
Qtractor is a nice program to mix loops and samples. But there is no soudndpool (with free loops and samples) included. Moreover it takes a lot of tome to put your loops in qtractor. The base of the program is very good. But there should be a hack that implements a better usabilitiy (soundpool, using vst and vsti and put effects via drag and drop) and the program should have a better look (some eye-candy like symbols etc.)...
