Add ubuntu Tweak as default in the installation

Ubuntu Tweak is an application designed to config Ubuntu easier for everyone.

It provided many usefull desktop and system options that the default desktop environment isn’t provided.

At present, It is only designed for Ubuntu GNOME Desktop, and often follows the newest Ubuntu distribution.

Features of Ubuntu Tweak

* View of Basic System Information(Distribution, Kernel, CPU, Memory, etc.)

I like Ubuntu Tweak, but I am not sure about this one. I do think that some of these features should be able to be changed in Ubuntu. Ubuntu should have an "expert-settings" package that you can install that gives you extra options for expert users. This way, they could keep it simple to the users who want it simple, but us power users could have our advanced settings on demand. Maybe the Ubuntu Tweak team could work on something like this. This package could replace the current settings dialogs by building on the current dialogs and adding extra features where needed.

It could be integrated as advanced options or something, there is way too many apps for options, having them more integrated together and have ubuntu tweak as advanced options would be really nice.

But seemingly this is the way to usher new features in GNOME. Do you remember Alacarte case? The community was unable to convince the devs about the necessity of menu editing. Their stance was: 'every GNOME application should register itself with menu the RIGHT way so editing and tweaking is not needed'. Alacarte was included in Ubuntu and... voila! we have menu tweaking in GNOME.

So I say: let's allow Ubuntu Tweak into default installation. In reality it is GNOME Tweak so perhaps GNOME devs would have motivation to include the tweak options in 'Preferences' menu where they really belong.

This should really be default, maybe they should change it a little so it fitted in.

But damn great tool, just downloaded it and all those things i spent hours trying to understand and do is just one single click here.

Some option are cool and should be implemented somewhere in the menus. Like the ability to show the dustbin icon, lock screen, etc.

I like the idea behind this suggestion but I am against including tweak. Ideally, Ubuntu should have some of the features (more of the basic ones) in standard Ubuntu install. Similar to Mac OS X.

For example, the corner settings for Compiz. Compiz manager is a total mess IMHO and tweak offers you the most needed features.

In addition, I think Ubuntu should ship with some decent defaults. For example, the window scale is too bouncy. I find that distracting. Window wiggle is plain useless.

I think Mac OS X can teach us a lot.

i think ubuntu must work on the options that ubuntu-tweak offers, but they mustn't add it by default, if you want to use it just download it, ubuntu must come only whit essential packages so it will not come too BIG, I do think that some of these features should be able to be changed in Ubuntu. Ubuntu should have this options by default, but not with ubuntu-tweak

many options there are in ubuntu-tweak should be implemented in an official gnome or ubuntu tool but ubuntu tweak is a cauldron where everything goes without beeing integrated to the environment
so -1 for the ubuntu tweak by default, but i can understood the question
