Description
Image you are a absolutely newbie to Ubuntu.
You have chosen Ubuntu because you have heared there is the friendliest communnity helping you over the first hard steps. You managed to install it but when you go to the web to seek for help you read only inside-words you do not understand.

I am thinking about a kind of dictionary but not for languages but for expressions. this "dictionary" could be used by different programs (like firefox) to highlight special words.

Do newbies know about userland? No, but they would have the chance to look it up easily without drifting away in the www...

what do you think?

I think that it would be a great idea to have a dictionary/lexicon guide to Ubuntu and Linux in general. There are a lot of terms that are used that confused the heck out of me at first and it took me a while to figure them out. There are even terms that are used in jest and fun (such as RTFM) that date back to the earliest days of Linux. I think that it would be a great way to introduce the young (Linux Newbies) to the world and culture that is Linux.

I agree -- to be more friendly to beginners, this could be helpful, especially if done in simple, everyday language.
