* This only works with things that are in the menu,
* I don't really want to have uninstall commands in places that should only mess with things like moving launchers to the desktops.
* Synaptic seems easy enough to me.

a) I have a killer headache and am pretty sick at the moment
b) The duplicates system is a mess, so I'm not making marking duplicates a priority. Until the system is cleaned up, by marking dupes, I am risking losing valuable ideas later on. Many of the original ideas have now been lost due to the chinese whispers effect, and incorrect modding.
The option should only appear in the menus of users who have the right to add/remove programs.
You know, the opposite would be cool too. If the app is not installed, have an option to show all possible entries in that menu with an install button. That way, our Applications menu also becomes our add/remove application. If we could somehow add menu editing functionality in there, the integration would be fantastic.
right click to uninstall is much faster, add to startup on right click is also much easier and more intuitive than session (which is much better than window's way)
I dont see much point in this since installing/uninstalling a program is not a frequent activity for most users. So it only serves to add clutter to the menu. Add/remove or synaptic are just a click away anyways.
A better option might be to have the uninstall option in the MENU EDITOR, not the MENU.
I really understand this idea as "Please, add a crappy way to add and remove programs because I'm too dumb to use the right way". IMO, Ubuntu should support only one way to add/remove programs: the official package manager. It's then up to you to use apt-get; to download .deb files and to install them with dpkg; to download directly the binary (e.g. the new Firefox) and to turn your Ubuntu into a Windows-like mess. But my opinion is that Ubuntu should not support that. So -1.
