Rationale
In order to promote Ubuntu, we should have a viral video contest. Users can create there own videos on Youtube or other video sites, and then register them on a Ubuntu contest page. The videos should promote Ubuntu in a creative fashion Users should also adhere to certain guidelines in order to be accepted. Whoevers registered video has the most page views by a certain deadline will be eligible for a prize.
Prizes to be determined later, but some possibilities could be
> Getting to meet Mark Shuttleworth!
> Monetary Compensation
> A New High End computer running Ubuntu
> A trip down a series of tubes.
> A contract to direct Ubuntu TV commercials
I think it's a nice idea. To dive into the details, I'd rather have a board judge the results so there would be no possibility to falsify results. I also think that the prizes shouldn't be money but instead fame or something. (Just because I think the money is better spent on the actual development work.)
