Idea #9874: Integrate Evolution with more IM clients

Description
Currently, Evolution can only sync its Address Book with Pidgin.
Some people, however, only use Emesene, or Amsn, or other IM client that doesn't use a proprietary protocol. Evolution should be able to integrate nicely with these too.

Ubuntu should help upstream GNOME to work out this limitation.

This should be possible soon with the help of "telepathy"

Ubuntu cannot do anything about this, ask the Pidgin development team. >_>

LOL I am so blind, I thought you were talking about Pidgin.

LOLZ I bet people will flame me for that mistake. XD

I see 2 solutions:

- Conduit. A generic solution for all synchronisation issues. This keeps the most freedom in what app you choose to use. It should be made part of gnome and 'built-in' support for synchronisation is to be removed.

- Telepathy. A sort of gstreamer for messaging.

I actually like both solutions, and they are not mutually exclusive.
