Description
Please print F1 for more then one second. A lot of windows will be open. Who does need so much windows with the same content? There should be only one window.

Well yes I agree, but if you just press F1 and hold it down it will open only one window...

But still when you need a help you are probably desperate and just pressing F1 so yes no matter how many times you press the button or for how long it should still open just one window

There is a similar problem with clicking on update manager. if you doubleclick the update button, two update managers open. I don't see any reason why you would want to have two update managers.

It doesn't look like single instance programs are actually handled by anything in GNOME (I'd be happy to be wrong)

See http://lwn.net/Articles/205232/ for a solution, but I don't see GNOME adopting it any time soon, which is what would have to happen to fix the gnome help browser :(

I'd love to be wrong about that too :)

I can reproduce the bug; it's a real bug. But is it an idea? This should be tagged as "Not an idea" and copied on launchpad.
