Idea #9855: A way to easily purge out of date packages and Kernels

Written by Diggs808 the 13 Jun 08 at 20:26. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
There needs to be an easier way in Ubuntu to purge older and out of date packages from Ubuntu. For example older Kernels that are no longer used can be purged through the "Add/Remove" menu option.

How many duplicates of this "idea" do we need to see? :-(

This has got to be the most duplicated idea in the last 2 weeks.

@Diggs808: would be nice if you would find out yourself which idea is this one a dupe of and mark it.

why do three people say this is a duplicate, without using the "Report a duplicate" feature to mark it as such?

anyway, back on the point of this idea. Synaptic has Status filters for things that can be removed. Old kernels show up there and can be purged easily.
