Idea #9781: Request to mark as 'implemented'

Description
Since there are not enough moderators to go around and constantly update all 10,000 ideas, I suggest having a 'implemented' queue, just as there is a 'duplicate' queue, where a user can mark the idea as "implemented" and a moderator has the choice to approve or decline.

Why am I suggesting this?

Because my idea "Fix "Places > Connect to Server..."" has already been implemented between GNOME 2.20 and 2.22 (http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/1549/) and this gentleman's "Fix Major Bug in ShipIt Website " has been fixed as well (http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/6539/).

Both have stayed flagged as 'new' for over 1 month and 2 months respectively.

This is indeed something we would like to do. A "report as implemented" button would be useful.
Unfortunately, there is just too much to do, and not enough time :) So we have to make priorities on the development.

If anyone here is interested in this feature, you can help develop it! This is part of the Brainstorm mentored tasks.

It would create the same mess as the duplicate reports do now.
People who do not understand English improperly mark things and apparently stressed mods approve based on the presence of one or two keywords in the text.

If there is such a backlog or mess with completing something or marking duplicates, then perhaps it needs changes.

Have the queue.
Allow people to see that something has been voted into the cue.

Allow people to agree/disagree with that vote (showing votes)
If the majority (above a threshold - say 90%) feel it is complete then mark it complete.

If there is disagreement - then the moderators have to step in and make a call

Would that not allow the community to more efficiently manage itself?

Another option would be to build more workflow automation - for each feature / success factor in an idea create a change log entry in the projects change database. Mark those changes as 'required' (maybe). Then when all criteria are complete by the project, mark this idea as complete.
