Description
I checked my permissions in "Users and Groups" and noticed that I do have permission to use a dial-up modem to connect to the internet and access floppy and CD-ROM drives, but I do not have permission to use the scanner.

Why is this? It does not make sense.

Add the use of scanner to default permission.

Have you actually tried using a scanner? The last time I tried using a scanner (admittedly, 7.10), it just worked.

No, I have not tried to use a scanner.

But the "Users and Groups" settings says that I do not have access to use a scanner. Strange. Confusing.

If it cant be disabled, it should be removed.

This has been fixed in 8.04 with ConsoleKit
