Description
If someone can convince people that an idea is bad and it was voted as good, the brainstorm user should be able to withdraw it's vote... or the other way around. This voting system is too democratic literally, it attracts an "oops!" for some users. This is why it's "electronic" take advantage of this! It's not like i dropped the paper in the box or anything...
...Think about it!

You're probably right. Also, Ubuntu and user requirements change over time, so an idea that's good today may be bad tomorrow, and vice versa.
However, if I don't have a strong opinion today I often wait and just see where the comments are going, and if the submitter amends the idea. This reduces the likelihood of error.

I agree with you, although a single vote won't matter much one way or the other.

@jhoger: in a perfect world....
@glotz: you may think so now, but actually the people that comment and vote, are those who actually keep track of the ideas they voted on! If someone convinces them otherwise an idea with let's say 3435 votes can plummet over a few days and people won't get the idea that either developers won't do what ppl want or the brainstorm system isn't here except for show... or i don't konw... ubuntu is being used by morons.

I always only comment, and if there are responses that makes me think it's not or it is a good idea only then I vote...
But, it's still good idea...

In a perfect world that happens.
Unperfect: a lot of ppl just browse through and vote this and that, sometimes because it sounds good, or they don't know what the hell they're talking about or ... just a simple mistake.... there's a lot of reasons.

@glotz: 1 vote won't make much of a difference but 1 comment could affect a large number of votes.
