Description
Actually, for beginners, it can be a little confusing to navigate through filesystem (/var, /bin, ...)
Also, when clicking on a labelled partition, he could not clearly understand to get an url from root (/media/sba1 as an example)
I suggest to add a "beginner" mode by default (the current mode sould be easily avalaible) that "hide" the filesystem from / and that only shows mounted partitions and connected devices. Partitions in this mode should keep their label in the url (and so avoid /media/hda as an example)

I disagree. User should get educated. It is bad to hide anything. It is just creating some mystic around "difficult file system".
Better solution would be to have short tutorial that will describe BASIC (home. mnt, media) file system. This should probably be accessible together with other system/Nautilus help.

Nope! Neither ubuntu nor Linux in general should "go Windows". The way it is now is way better and easy to understand - if you just disable the "all PC must be Windows" mode in your head ;o)

I disagree with this. Hiding things which I haven't specifically requested to be hidden doesn't feel right to me.
If a new user goes exploring around system directories then that is a good thing, because they are being curious and educating themselves a little. They can't do any damage as important things are owned by root, and if they get lost there are always two huge buttons at the top of Nautilus saying "Home" and "Computer".

Read The Fucking Manual,
A lot of ubuntu userers come from Windows *, just let them read a good linux book/ebook and they understand it ALL!
