Idea #8833: Have Ubuntu to works with finger prints readers

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #2: Fingerprint readers integration.
Written by EagleScreen the 19 May 08 at 21:36. Category: Hardware support. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
I would like to suggest for the next Ubuntu version, compatibility with finger prints readers that usually comes with laptops.
I think it is needed to apply this to GDM and KDM session managers, in order to can start session with your finger print.

This requries drivers, If your finger print reader is supported, you can already do that, right now. Search on ubuntu forums, you'll find a thread about it.

On the other hand, if your finger print reader has no driver for linux (like mine), poke the company that made it to make one. Or wait 'till someone else reverse engineers the drivers and makes linux ones.
