Solution #1: Auto-generated solution of idea #8827
Written by juan-arg the 19 May 08 at 17:29.
Ubuntu Brainstorm was updated in January 2009. Since the idea #8827 was submitted before this update, its rationale and solution are not separated. Please vote accordingly, and if you have the necessary rights, please separate the rationale from the solution. Thanks!

Solution #2: use a already existing 3rd party solution
Written by tuxpowered the 2 Oct 09 at 23:56.
I am not that fammiliar with Apparmor myself, but is there a 3rd party solution such as a gui frontend to apparmor already?

Then this one could be bug checked and installed by Ubuntu by default.

If not, the obvious solution could be to make a GUI frontend to apparmor by developers or community?

Solution #3: Create a Great GUI for AppArmor on Ubuntu
Written by rrnwexec the 12 Apr 10 at 16:12.
Ubuntu often faces criticism that it doesn't contribute enough code to projects. Here's a place to change it.

The user interface and user experience is an area where Ubuntu shines. Use the great ideas coming from Ayatana and build a robust control panel that will make it easy to add application protection.

I think he wants a GUI for AppArmor, like in SuSE, but I don't know. ;-) . Can you write your idea in English please?

@all: indeed, he said "I think it would be good to have a GUI for apparmor in order to be able to configure the different profiles".

Sounds like a great idea for me, assuming AppArmor does provide good protection. I wouldn't know, I've never used it, on account of it not having a GUI. Seems rather silly adding the backend for an application and no way for the average user to use it.

My opinion much better to work under tomoyou-gui which is already using in Manrdiva. Just tried to use it into Ubuntu but have some troublesd due to policies not saving etc.

so just take source codes from rpmfind and adopt it to ubuntu
