Idea #879: Integrate KDE4

Written by cmobley the 29 Feb 08 at 04:15. Category: Look and Feel. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale

In my humble opinion, when KDE4 gets their act together, they will revolutionize user interfaces. Either Gnome needs to learn how to make a compositing WM useful (zooming out the whole desktop, preview all windows and pick one out with incremental keyboard search, etc), or Kubuntu needs to help KDE4 get the nagging usability stuff ironed out (can't resize the panel? Are you kidding me?)

How about both.

Solution #1: Auto-generated solution of idea #879
Written by cmobley the 29 Feb 08 at 04:15.
Ubuntu Brainstorm was updated in January 2009. Since the idea #879 was submitted before this update, its rationale and solution are not separated. Please vote accordingly, and if you have the necessary rights, please separate the rationale from the solution. Thanks!

4.0.2 was released yesterday, and now you can resize the panel.
But still I agree that KDE4 is still far behind KDE3 in terms of usability, which is of course no reason for Kubuntu not to try and make it usable instead of waiting for the other distribs to make the missing tools and adjustments.

Voted down with a stick for being an ugly troll.

>(zooming out the whole desktop, preview all windows and pick one out with incremental keyboard search, etc)

Those features are enabled by default if your system is capable of running compiz.

So you are not only trolling. But you are using lies.

Your brainstorm is not a concrete idea, it seems to be about kde, but it attacks gnome.

This is not a forum. Please delete this empty opinion and try submititng some real concrete specific ideas.

@Ralf.Nieuwenhuijsen:

I don't want to use this place to knock anyone, but I can't help but notice how in every one of your comments, you tell someone how they are spamming brainstorm with their useless ideas, how lazy the users are for not using Google to search for an idea, and half the time you are incorrect anyway. Your time would be better spent giving feedback that explains why you approve or disapprove of an idea so it can be discussed further without knocking everyone and calling them names. (Lazy, Troll, Useless, Ugly, and so on) Please knock it off!
