I propose that the Desktop Cube should be enabled by default instead of the Desktop Wall.

But then you need 4 virtual desktops instead of two.
Maybe it requires more memory. Don't know.
I like cube, its pretty. I only use one desktop though lol.

People are attracted to pretty stuff (think compiz-fusion YouTube videos). Thus, if Ubuntu ships looking very pretty with a default of desktop cube (preferably on LiveCD) and high graphical effects, it is a better advertisement.

My computer actually works better with the desktop cube instead of the wall.

This demands compiz to be added to core programs.
But not all want to use it.
Also it can be bad for slower machines; so -1 from me.
Maybe your computer woks better with cub i know my has some problems with it. And it's not that bad of an computer.

I can run compiz-fusion with the desktop cube on a Geforce 2. It is already a core program.
