Related to: Gnome. Status: New
Description
The idea would be to integrate a data detector that analyzes patterns in messages, chat , and when the users hoovers over it, a contextual menu appears proposing add-hoc actions.

This article describes the implementation of this feature in Leopard in more details. Please take 2 seconds to skim through it before voting.

An awesome idea that would make Ubuntu shine - but I think this would take a huge amount of effort to get this working and integrated now, so while the idea has a lot of future potential, I don't think it's worth Ubuntu's energy to concentrate on this for now. Ubuntu still has a lot of basic usability bases to cover before it can aim this high!

Awesome. But it may be better idea to forward this to pidgin dev's...

We need a working calender that's not attached to Evolution first. :P

I don't see why this should be limited to pigdin, it would be useful in many contexts - text messages, email, irc, terminal...
