Description
When going through the packages in Synaptic, some of the programs have limited descriptions and can be hard to work out what the program really does.

My proposal is to ensure that all supported packages in Ubuntu repositories have much more detailed descriptions together with a link to further information.

This is something that I can understand would take a while to achieve, but if needed, I would be happy to help on this particular development if someone was willing to help me begin.

Screenshots would be amazing if there was a way to ensure they stayed updated.

Could there be a way to allow users to upload screenshots (like CNR) that are then voted on as to which best represent the program? The top 3 get shown or something like that.

One particular annoyance is when there are multiple binary packages from the same source, each sharing a large boilerplate of identical description with only a brief mention of the particular contents of each particular binary package.

Nice Idea, and perhaps links to their wiki (when possible) should also be there, another little idea related to this one would be links to video to a related program

Perhaps you could attach the blueprint above if you think it is related.
