Description
Mark said that "pretty is a feature".
Ubuntu must be eyecandy, pretty, beautiful, glossy. Sometimes human theme is not so, if we try other ones. For example, glossy theme works well.
My idea is beautiful by default.
n.b. Give attenction that this idea is in "marketing".

I agree, beauty is a feature.
I think that we should strive to make Ubuntu very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing.
I want a beautiful desktop.
Though, we shouldn't let beauty to before usability.

This is the reason that I put the idea in marketing.

Then they should just support openGEU officially. It's the prettiest distro I have ever seen.

openGEU's appearance is appealing only to a very select group of nerds. It is binged out, over done. Ubuntu's looks should be professional clean and sophisticated and sleek. It should look like a well engineered machine with all the parts meant to work together like OSX, not like the bling on a bad hip hop outfit.

Oh friends, when I look Rhythmbox or Quod Libet or Firefox, I would rename human theme in "soviet theme".
Real socialism for human beings!

Kubuntu hasn't got an human theme, but human theme dosen't look that bad (maybe a bit to much brown) but it's warm and friendly opposed to my current theme made from shades of blue that makes it cold.
Don't make glossy an default theme but there should an option.
Kubuntu has that in crystal theme that looks like vista, so why not just "translate" crystal from qt to gtk.
Simple is beautiful.
0 from me, for now...

Of course Ubuntu should have the most blinking eyecandy available but ... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ...
some like it flashy, others clean and light, others dark and heavy, ... How are you going to please them all?

glossy? no i think that is not good idea
i don't like stricts, with clossy it's more like kde style, i like round endings instead. In my opinion Ubuntu default theme is greatfull enough. Also i like Fedora clear-look theme.
I have put -1 into this suggestion. Sometimes simplify it is reall beauty.
Sorry for english

glossy != beautiful
I don't like glossy things. I don't like glossy icons, glossy screens, women with glossy lipstick.
I like matt.

I want beautiful, but I don't want glossy, shiny, blue, green, or anything like that. I'm quite happy with brown.

I think we should offer options on install with Human as default and make it easy to download and browse Themes off the Internet.

Saying we need to make Ubuntu 'beautiful' isn't an 'idea'. Stop wasting our time.
If you had an idea on HOW to make Ubuntu beautiful, then that'd be worth voting on.

Voted down as it's not exactly an idea.
