Description
Adobe released a beta version of their Flash 10 plugin, and it's available from their website here:

http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/flashplayer10_install_lin ux_051508.tar.gz

Since the current flash-nonfree package is already relatively unstable (esp. on AMD64), we should consider packing a flash-nonfree-10beta for this early release. Of course, the beta shouldn't replace the current version, but the option should be available.

The package should conflict with flash-nonfree so the two aren't installed simultaneously, and should do the work of automatically fetching the latest beta from Adobe.

Manual install instructions and other details here:

Sorry about the broken links in the description.. is there any way to avoid that? Does HTML work here?

loonyphoenix wrote on the 16 May 08 at 18:05
simply remove the spaces for the html to work :)

@loonyphoenix: Yeah, it looks like the spaces are automatically inserted by the editor to wrap lines. They don't appear when I go to edit the post.

Did you just post the links or did you use html?

If you just posted the links, try this without spaces after < and before > (I had to add them, otherwise you'd see a broken link instead of a way to create them):

< a href="http://link.here" > Link name here < /a >

good idea. I kept getting crashes whenever Firefox encountered Flash content, and this fixes it.

It's now in hardy-backports. Please use the procedure described at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports to request backports, and read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for information on the kinds of updates possible in a stable release. Backport and package requests are not within the scope of Brainstorm.
