Idea #8515: Integrate loading the desktop with the login screen

Description

This is kind of adding on to my idea about preloading the desktop...but better. As suggested by terlmann in the comments at http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/8378/ it would be really cool if the loading of the desktop after successfully logging in were integrated into the login screen.
Instead of the gap between login screen and desktop (with or without a splash screen), I think it would look nicer if there was some sort of progress bar or indicator while the desktop loads after you log in, and then once it's done you get a fully-functional desktop right away?

Really? Well, I guess you're right, but would it be significant or even noticeable?
To me, it seems like just giving visual feedback of what is already happening
