Rationale
I'm a user of openSuse, but i want to try kubuntu or ubuntu because opensuse disapointme last time..
But something of openSuse.. it's beautiful, when you boot your pc, and the grub has a nice screen to select wich SO boot.. that's something that i'll miss in (k)ubuntu.
Why (k)ubuntu hasn't got a nice screen boot for grub?
PS: I vote +1 for Idea # #3982, about "Restart into.." from shutdown menu.. another thing that opensuse has!
I was positively impressed bu the eyecandy of opensuse grub as well, but on the other hand I agree with those who say that the bootloader must, wlll... bootload, without further complications or fancy graphics because every piece you add is one more piece that can go wrong and bootloading is too critical.
I love this idea, I really dislike th ubuntu actal Bootloader. I think a bootloader with Ubuntu colors (brown background, the logo in the top ...) can be very appreciate by newbies. I have tried Mandriva 2008 spring and the bootloader is simply beautiful, it can be personalised at the end of the installation and it is no longer to load that the simple ubuntu bootloader !
Okay I was sceptical this needed changing till I googled to see the OpenSUSE GRUB page and saw this "http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/en/0/0d/103_grub.png" I have to admit that's a bit tasty, I'm sure it'll be more orange or brown for Ubuntu but it does look good.
