Description
Even though, I like the current busy cursor, I thought that would be much original if, instead of the MAC_Loading Animation to busy cursor, would be the ubuntu logo rotating around its origin.
Also this might be done for Kubuntu and Xubuntu, too, with their own logos.
Please excuse my English!

You mean, not the Firefox-like rotating circles, but a rotating Ubuntu logo? Sounds great to me.
We should also do this to Firefox (circles) and Nautilus (Gnome foot)

Kubuntu already has this possibility, but it's still good
idea.

Naa its a bit to cheesy. I like the current one and see no reason to change.
Thanks for your input, in some respects this is a good idea but unfortunately I have to vote -1.

Fine idea. But you should still have the options to choose between an Ubuntu cursor and the default like we have now.

They have this in RHEL already (and had it for quite some time). Time for Ubuntu to catch up. I would love to see a spinning Circle of Friends when the OS is busy. I think it would be cool.

Of course! I just came with this idea as for the default cursor for the respective OS (Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Xubuntu)
I don't want to get rid of the current cursor either, but would seam to be more original with an Ubuntu animated logo as the busy cursor!
Thanks a lot guys for all the votes, pros & cons!

I don't think it's a good idea.
The busy cursor is what you don't want happening.
You don't want your computer busy... and you shouldn't associate the brand with the undesired action. Should you?
It sounds like a good option (if anybody wants it that way) but never as the Default cursor.

Exactly, you don't really enjoy looking at busy cursors and seeing the ubuntu logo will start to give a bad impression on ubuntu subconsciously.

I think it would cause a psychological association between the Ubuntu brand name and being frustrated by system slow-down.

I think it should be an option for those who want it, but it definitely shouldn't be default.

This is a better idea for a custom cursor theme or the like.

That is a fine idea, if I had any inkling how to do it, I would have done it LONG ago!

Pop into GIMP and use GIMP's animation features to take a small Ubuntu logo and rotate n number of times and create an anim gif, then replace current busy cursor with your own animation... voila!

I don't like the idea, it's a little bit tacky. I like the custom waiting cursor, I think it's even better than an awful hourglass.

The circles on the outside go one way, the circle in the middle goes the other. Then, the outer ones shrink inwards and spin, and change direction as they invert..
You could get creative with something like this...

I really like those little blue circles revolving in a halo formation in pclinuxos. We could even have a little selection of busy movies. rotating stars, bouncy cherubs, little twittering birds, herds of wilderbeest majestically sweeping over the horizon...

I don't agree it could look kind of overloaded

I don't really like the idea of plastering the Ubuntu logo everywhere that it can possibly go. So far, the Ubuntu developers have done a good job of keeping the logo at minimal use. They have chosen subtle desktop backgrounds that don't have a giant Ubuntu logo in the center or huge UBUNTU text, and I want to keep it that way. The same goes for the mouse cursor. You can be proud of your operating system but you don't have to visually display that pride in every aspect of the OS.
