Description
I don't know why you can't pre-order 8.04 Hardy Heron CD's from the Ubuntu ShipIt site given that it's less than ten days from its release date.

The site only allows you to order 7.10 Gusty Gibbon CD's. What's the use of ordering outdated CD's that will arrive several weeks later when they will be of no use anymore?

Please, allow us to pre-order CD's of the latest version of Ubuntu.

+1 Id defiantly like this, I live in SA and with our wonderful postal system, the CD's take ages, pre-oder and then they ship on the release day or something :-)

Are you talking about "ship it" or the option to buy cd from the Ubuntu store.

I think you should be able to pre-order of the upcoming version from both ship-it and the store(https://shop.canonical.com/index.php?cPath=17&osCsid=0ffeb0835710b8001dca 2eb51336ca54)

Yes thank you!
But when I think about it, maybe it takes a while to produce all the cd's.
Well, as fast as possible would be cool anyway.

why don't you give them a few days ?

it will be available very soon like it always been.

How long does it take for an ordered CD to get delivered?

FranciscoPadillaGarcia wrote on the 17 Apr 08 at 07:24
2 to 6 weeks ONCE the order has been approved. This process can be shorter if we could pre-order CD's of the latest version.

No use ordering outdated CD's

I think it would be more cost efficient too. Cause the cd's ordered in the period, say 4-5 weeks before a new release will eventually never be used by the people who ordered them because by the time the cd's arive there will be a newer release, and this time it will be even an LTS.

so +1

Thank you so much for implementing this feature. Thanks for listening to people. I foresee Ubuntu becoming the de facto Operating System of the future.

Ubuntu's best features are constant improvement and a humanity to others.
