Description
When installing the server version we can select encrypted partition but when installing desktop we dont have this choice. Since Desktop version are more subject to be installed on Laptop I dont understand why this feature is not availlable.

Yes, in my line of duty I have to wear a bulletproof vest everyday. I need encryption on my laptop, because there have been attempts to steal laptops even at gunpoint.
My colleges recently lost a laptop, so it is of uttermost important that we have encryption for our sensitive data.

I was wondering this myself.

Just use the alternate install cd and you'll have full encryption available.

Apparently it already exists in the alternative install cd and with the graphical installer...

As far as I know, only alternate boot installer gives you the option of encrypting your root filesystem. I haven't tested Hardy's installer though.

Why it is only included in alternate installer? It should be included in every installer!

I already know alternate CD allows for encryption, but it has no GUI installer.
I voted up for this, so the Desktop non-alternate CD can provide an option for encryption.
