Idea #7031: Send Mark Shuttleworth to Daily Show/Colbert Report

Written by gQuigs the 15 Apr 08 at 03:33. Category: Marketing. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
Bill Gates went on The Daily Show to promote Vista. Mark should go on to promote Ubuntu Hardy.

Please don't demote if you just think this isn't possible. Demote if you don't want to see this happen at all.

We may not have the power to "Send" him there but I think if we get enough votes, we might just get on their radar.

I doubt we have a say in the matter..

I further doubt Mr Shuttleworth would be interested in paying all that money for 'advertising'.

After all, the latest version of Ubuntu (and derivitives) doesn't look like being a 'dead duck' even before release.

Nobody can "send" himself to a show.

we do have say. Colbert likes his name plugged and will flock to the flock.

This is a great idea!

Going on a show doesn't require a fee. Besides, all we are doing is passing on a really good idea!

Well, the reason I am demoting, is because we have NO SAY IN IT! Thats why it is being demoted. Its an impossible, unable to fulfill idea.

Otherwise, send me to the show.

And if Shuttleworth gets asked, he probably wouldn't say no, so this idea will not change anything, even if it had 10000 votes

Ubuntu really doesn't need too much marketing effort. Unlike vista, lol!

You know, the best marketeer is your best friend. He'll tell you about it if he really likes it. Let's just make sure he does!
