Description
I really like the gnome interface. I like the scalable icons and the nautilus browser but I have some suggestions:

Desktop and Nautilus:
- Make a better grid for auto arranged icons (currently this sucks since it snaps icons over a big distance, you can't put your icon where you want it).
- Create Leopard style preview methods (for example allow compiz to draw a translucent notification balloon showing the content of a file in the center of the screen.

Nautilus:
- Make emblems bigger, they're to small...
- In the sidebar add a function 'tasks' which show common tasks for the thing you're doing (for example: in ftp add functions like swictch user, in an image folder make slideshows possible, in music folders show a function play all music. This kind of sidebar will make common tasks easy)
- Create different icons for documents, videos, pictures etc... And make a betterlooking modern icon set (like nuove XT)

Nautilus/Installer
- I'm dutch, when I install Ubuntu and it imports by file from windows it puts the document in a folder 'Documents' but Ubuntu gives me a 'Documenten' folder (last one is dutch) so this annoys me because I now need te replace all my stuff..

Great ideas! I think we've needed the leopard-style previews, emblem fixes, and IDK what you really mean by the sidebar one, but they all sound great! +1 for you!

Redrazor39: With the sidebar he meant something like the Windows XP (TM)(C)(R) task-changeable sidebar(that blue bar that sits on the left of the explorer window)

Not exactly. In the current sidebar you can select types of things, tree's locations. discriptions etc... I think it's great to add one with tasks...
