Related to: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Description
There should be a way, to find the names (and manpages) of all configuration files and command line tools related to a particular topic (usb, networking, drives, x.org, file operations, permissions, whatever) from inside the normal help system.

edit: "all" means all, that are part of the standard setup.

edit2: As one reply to this already pointed out, you can find manpages in help. The problem with this is, you have to know the name of the program or file. You should be able to find them by topic.

The manuals are already there through help. Two ways to get them...

1) System > Help and Support
Search for a program:
eg. 'axorg'
Results:
'xorg manual page'
'xorg.conf manual page'

2) System > Help and Support
Search for a manual :
eg. 'man xorg.conf'
Takes you straight there

@bikeboy: That is missing the point.
If you know the name of the program or config file, you can already get documentation easily. The point is removing the need to know the name beforehand.

Good idea.

Also be able to display man pages in a non-text interface.

Maybe a kind of simple table of context would already help. Categorize applications and their man pages or documentation (like in the Add/Remove programm) would be a first step. This table of context could also be used for search request.

Maybe a GUI for apropos? I have a web version of my own [see my blog: http://daniel1992.wordpress.com/2008/04/01/manpages-online/]

It shows tha appropriate page, and if there is not one found reverts to apropos output. It needs improvement (getting some soon), but the idea is I think what you are going for.
