Description
Under the orange loading bar I think it should say what version it is loading. The writing can be quite small or even grey on the black background but I think it should be there.

I agree, but it'd probably be cooler if ubuntu just started switching up the bootloader on every version, or at least every LTS version, that way you can tell by just looking at it...

The computer name and if there is none then the version.

I know quite a few people who give their computer a name to identify each on a network. That name could be used at boot time.

What version of Windows are you using? XP! Vista! 95!

What version of Ubuntu are you using? The one my son put on.

I run 6.06 on some older computers, some have 7.04 and others 7.10. I personally know which one they're using my looking at they general interface and icons, but if I asked them, they wouldn't have a clue.
