Description
Because compiz is not necessary when you are running fullscreen programs and it will slow down fullscreen 3d applications or at least compiz could give problems with ati drivers and 3d applications.

And after restart of Compiz we have to put all windows into right place. IMO not good idea

Extremely bad idea. The sheer mess this would create is nasty. If you want to turn off compiz you should use fusionicon and turn it off before you do the full screen app.

I often will demo linux to customers. Often, and everyone of you could be doing more by showing others it regularly, and during these presentations I will start a few full screen video sessions and spin the globe and demonstrate the cpu utilization.

If it isn't the beautiful 3d cube or the fact that 3 or more full screen apps are running, the sheer speed of doing this at once generally hooks customers.

So, no, turning it off has serious ramifications, beyond what my requirements are. Vote no on this suggestion.

This is a duplicate of #2876 "disable compiz for certain apps"

When you use more than one desktop its very usefull to have compiz enabled

i.e blender or WoW

It seems there already is (or at list there was, did not check recently) an unredirect fullscreen window option in advanced desktop effect settings/general
This is what you want. Disabling compiz altogether seems like an overkill, would not work well for multiple desktops (as pointed by others) and as far as i can tell is only usefull for ati cards (or maybe nvidias too) that have buggy drivers.
