Description
Even if you install Ubuntu in other language than English, OpenOffice and Firefox come without any trace of the selected language, everything is in English.
Although it isn't difficult to do, it would be very useful to many people to have that programs configured for their language by default: application language, dictionaries, thesaurus...

Hi, when I use the Chinese localized version, everything is in Chinese, including OpenOffice and Firefox. There are some random annoying and inconsistent parts still in English, but not major programs. What localization were you using?

I also have that problem with my localization, although there is a version of both OpenOffice.org and Firefox on my language, they do not appear in ubuntu...

Did you download the language packs during the installation?
I got Spanish Firefox and openoffice in my feisty setup

For me (Japanese), OOo is fine, but Firefox 3.0 is in English. It always happens when Ubuntu packages beta releases of Firefox, and it's kind of annoying. You can't even download a language pack addon for Japanese.

There's just not enough space on the CD to have complete localizations...

Firefox and openoffice will be on your language if you're online when installing Ubuntu.

I am forced to have zh_TW locale but actually I need zh_HK locale. Firefox is the main reason I can't use zh_HK locale because zh_CN is installed instead and that is not acceptable for daily use.

Firefox and OOo are in American English(filth). It should be in proper English(GB) for me since I am British. Its No major problem though.+1

joeally: Since OOo and Firefox are primarily being developed by people in the United States, that shouldn't be surprising. Maybe if a few more Brits put in the manhours towards development, you could have stuff in British English by default.
